Upcoming shows (11/11/2009)
I don't go to all the shows I list in these posts, but if people commit to going with me I go. Bold means I already have tickets to that show.
This week: Nothing. Gretel is playing at Precinct in Union square tonight, but I'm too tired to go.

Hallmark Bar Mitzvah card. I took this picture at the Medford Square CVS. My Jewish readers should find this amusing if this isn't too grainy. |

I had a good weekend.
I had a fun weekend. Thursday, I went to rax and eredien's for a birthday party. It was pretty awesome. I got to chat with autumnesquirrel. The food was quite tasty, home-made vegan pizza and just amazing pad thai. We also drank wine from a pink kitty bottle. Friday I hit up Hungry Mother near Kendall Square with drakul and his coworkers. Yeah, the cocktails and food there are both pretty awesome. I ate too much, but it was worth it! I had the pimento cheese appetizer, the potato gnocchi with mushrooms (which had a wine sauce of deliciousness), and cranberry upside-down cake. Also, John Krasinski, that guy from The Office, was there. The guys in my party were all fanboy over him. I will admit, he is very handsome in person. After dinner we hit it to the People's Republic for a few drinks. I don't know when it happened exactly, but I am now very fond of gin drinks. At Hungry Mother I had the bicicleta cocktail, which is not unlike a French 75; gin, lemon, sparkling wine... and it was gin for me at the People's too. Saturday I went to Vlad and company's "hot chicks with d-bags" theme party, and that was pretty rocking. It was just a great theme. Ross and I both went as jerks. The costumes were on the whole awesome. More opted to be d-bags than hot chicks, perhaps because it's more fun. Vlad, whose birthday it was, had some of the awesomest hair of the evening! Sunday I tooled a little, took care of business... and the rest of my week is going that way so far... I think I am coming in to work tomorrow even if it is a holiday, it's frikkin' abstract season! It's killing me, man... |

Found at McIntyre and Moore's today, a copy of Hudson's Engineering Electricity, 2nd printing, 1928 (first was in 1920). Inside the cover the name in pencil of its first owner: Robert D. Picket, MIT class of 1940, course XVI. OMFGWTF, the things they had to do before they had solid state switching. Chapter 13 is teh scary. |
